Add to this the difficulties arising from difference of language, the remote position of the Mint so far removed from home supplies; and I think it will at once be admitted, how much depends on the previous experiences of the conductor of such an undertaking, during its earlier stages. No one of experience would suppose the Mint to be in complete working order, much of its future results will depend on the first Master to develop it, and to make it eventually a commercial success.
